Curly Hairstyles With Hot Rollers

Steps Of Curly Hairstyle

Plug the hot rollers into an electrical outlet. An indicator light should come on to let you know therollers are heating. You may need to turn a power switch to the “on” position. Most hot roller sets require about five minutes to heat fully. They will usually indicate readiness with a light.
Brush clean, dry hair to remove any knots or tangles.
Spritz your hair with a heat protectant spray to guard against heat damage. Brush the spray through your hair to distribute evenly.
Divide your hair into three sections: the top and either side. Section the top by running your fingers from the far edge of each eyebrow back to the nape of your neck. Pin the sides out of your way using clips.
Select a 1/2-inch section of hair from the front of your head. Spritz the section with flexible-hold hairspray. This will hold the curl without causing a “crunchy” texture.
Hold the section vertical from your head. Select a hot roller. If your rollers have various sizes, use the largest size for the top portion of your hair.
Wrap the tip of the hair around the hot roller and begin rolling down toward the scalp. Always roll the hair away from your face. When you reach the scalp, add the roller clip to hold in place.
Repeat Steps 5 to 7 for the rest of the top portion of hair. You will require four to six rollers to complete the top portion of your hair, depending on the size of rollers you use. The rollers should be neatly stacked, horizontally, one after the other.
Unclip one side of hair, select a 1/2-inch portion and hold it out perpendicular to your head. Spritz with flexible-hold hairspray.
Place a medium-sized roller vertical, at the tip of the hair and begin wrapping the hair toward your scalp. Always wrap the hair away from your face. Hold the roller in place using the roller clip.
Curl both sides of your head in the same manner as indicated in Step 10. The rollers should stack, vertically, next to one another. For most people, four medium curlers are sufficient for curling the sides.
Allow the curlers to remain in place for at least 20 minutes or until the hair has cooled completely. If you remove the rollers while the hair is still warm, the curls will not be as good. The heat will set the curls.
Remove the clips from the cool rollers. Unwind the hair gently and slowly. Do not tug on the hair as this can stretch out your curls.
Separate the curls by finger-combing through each one. This will add volume and create a more natural-looking curl.
Flip your head upside down and spray with maximum-hold hairspray. This will lock your curls in place and hold the style for longer.
